About XCELL

Quality, Safety and Governance

Good care is not a promise, it is a set of habits. This page sets out how we are regulated, how we recruit and train, how we keep people safe and what to do if we get something wrong.

Our CQC Registration

XCELL Healthcare Solutions Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Our registration covers the regulated activity of personal care.

Our CQC profile carries our registration details in full. We do not hold an inspection rating, because the service has not yet been inspected.

Safer Recruitment

Nobody supports a person on their own until every check is complete. For each new member of staff we carry out:

  • An enhanced DBS check
  • Reference checks, including the most recent employer where there is one
  • Right to work checks
  • A full employment history and an interview covering values as well as skills

Training and Competency

Skills are checked, not assumed:

  • A structured induction before any solo work, with shadow shifts alongside experienced colleagues
  • Mandatory training in safeguarding, moving and handling, medication, infection prevention and first aid
  • Specialist training in dementia, learning disability and autism, and mental health awareness
  • Person-specific training and competency sign-off before supporting someone with complex needs
  • Delegated health tasks only after training and competency sign-off by a health professional
  • Regular supervision, spot checks and appraisals

Care Planning and Reviews

Support is written with the person, not for them:

  • An assessment before support starts, with the person and the people who matter to them
  • A care or support plan setting out what matters, what help is needed and how it will be given
  • Daily notes at each visit, so the team and the family can see what happened
  • Reviews at agreed intervals and whenever needs change

Safeguarding

Everyone we support has the right to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. Staff are trained to recognise and report concerns, we follow local multi-agency procedures, and we report to the local authority and the Care Quality Commission where we are required to.

Safeguarding Statement

Medication Safety

Medication support is only ever given at the level assessed as safe:

  • The level of support is agreed in the care plan, from prompting through to administering
  • Records are completed at the time, not afterwards
  • Medicines are reviewed with the person's GP, and any change is recorded
  • Errors and near misses are reported, investigated and learned from

Complaints and Feedback

If something goes wrong we want to know, and raising a complaint will never affect the care someone receives. Feedback from people, families and professionals is used to change how we work.

Complaints Procedure

Data Protection

Care records and enquiries hold information people trust us with, including health information. It is stored securely, shared only where we need to or where someone consents, and kept no longer than necessary.

Privacy Policy

Out of Hours

Our office team is contactable during office hours, and our support workers have on-call support outside them.
