What Personal Care Can Include

Morning and Bedtime Routines

Getting up, washing, dressing and breakfast, then winding down, changing and settling safely for the night.

Bathing and Showering

A strip wash, shower or bath at your pace, using any equipment already assessed for your home.

Dressing and Grooming

Choosing clothes, dressing, hair care, shaving, oral care and make-up if you wish.

Continence Care

Discreet support with toileting, pads and changing, with skin kept clean, dry and comfortable.

Mobility and Transfers

Help moving between bed, chair, bathroom and toilet, using walking aids or a hoist where assessed and trained.

Your exact support is agreed during your free assessment. Tasks that need a nurse, such as wound dressings, are arranged with your community health team.
