Dementia Care May Help If Your Loved One...

  • Forgets meals, drinks or medication
  • Feels confused about the time, day or place
  • Has left the house and struggled to find the way home
  • Seems anxious, low or unsettled, especially later in the day
  • Needs more help with washing, dressing or eating
  • Relies on a family carer who is becoming exhausted

We Start by Knowing the Person

Before care begins, we create an About Me profile with the person and their family. It captures their life story, work, family, favourite music, foods, routines and the things that bring comfort or cause worry.

Every carer reads it before their first visit. It helps us connect, reassure and respond in ways that feel familiar, even on difficult days.

About Me

Support at Every Stage

  1. 1

    Early Stage

Gentle prompts with medication, meals and appointments, help keeping hobbies and social life going, and support to plan ahead.

  2. 2

    Middle Stage

More hands-on help with personal care, routines and safety, calm reassurance during confusion and more frequent visits.

  3. 3

    Later Stage

Comfort-focused personal care, help with eating and drinking, skin care and close work with district nurses and GPs.

Care changes as needs change, and we review it regularly with you.

Calm, Consistent and Compassionate

  • Familiar Faces: A small team of the same carers, introduced before they visit.
  • Steady Routines: Visits at the same times each day, following the person's usual rhythm.
  • Clear Communication: Short sentences, eye contact, patience and time to respond.
  • Understanding Distress: We look for the reason behind agitation, such as pain, hunger or worry, and respond calmly.
  • Meaningful Moments: Music, photographs, walks and simple activities that bring joy.

Supporting You, Too

Caring for someone with dementia is rewarding but exhausting. We keep you informed, involve you in reviews and share what we notice after each visit, with consent. Regular respite visits give you time to rest, work or simply be a son, daughter or partner again.

We also work alongside memory services, GPs, social workers and community nurses.
